MWM Session V Classes February 24 - March 31, 2010 {No MWM March 17 - Spring Break}
Seven Deadly Sins/ Seven Life Giving Habits Leaders: Pastor Troy Bowers and Amanda Gutierrez Why are there seven? Why are the deadly? Who decided? How can we avoid them? And…how can we live our lives differently and instead embrace the 7 life giving habits. Every week we will explore one of the 7 deadly sins, learn how it is still evident in our world, and then also look at its antithesis, its corresponding life giving habit. Join Pastor Troy and Amanda Gutierrez for lively discussion and applicable learning.
“Break a Leg!” Leader: Susan Reiff and Melissa Burrows If you recognize the theatre meaning of this class title, then this class may be for you. “Break a leg” is a well-known saying in the theatre which means “good luck!” In this class we’ll be organizing and participating in the production of a Christian drama. It takes more than actors and actresses – it takes people who enjoy helping put the production into reality through assisting with costumes, make-up, and set props. Come join the fun and the learning us as we prepare a short Christian drama in preparation for sharing it with the congregation.
Silencing the Christians Leader: Sherry Martin Christian persecution; does it exist? Doesn’t that happen only in other countries? Am I being persecuted or silenced for my faith in Christ? Will my children / grandchildren face persecution for their faith? Using a DVD study, Sherry will lead us as we explore and learn about Christian persecution. The Christian church was established in an environment of persecution and the persecution of Christians still exists today; many feel it is on the increase. What do you as a Christian need to know about persecution – come, join us, and find out? It is important!
Please Note: •The church bus is available for transporation to and from MWM if we have a minimum of 6 riders. Please contact the church office if you would like to ride the bus to and from MWM.
